Data types for code use

A few data types are exclusively used in TSQL statements because it would make no sense trying to use them in a table. There are only two:

     Cursor.

     Table.

Cursor

A cursor is not a data type to store some data; it is either declared with the FOR clause that will bind it to a SELECT statement or it will act as an alias for another curser, with the SET statement. There are specific statements to handle cursors. More information is in the cursor section.

Table

The table data type is an alternative way to create a temporary table. The variable declaration requires the column definition for the table and it creates a temporary table in tempdb. More information is in the temporary table section.
