Using CDO for Windows 2000

CDO for Windows 2000 exposes a set of COM classes and interfaces from the system DLL ‘cdosys.dll’. The DLL provides early bound as well as late bound interfaces. This allows the DLL to be used as easily from scripting languages such as JScript or VBScript as from languages such as C++ and Visual Basic. For example to send a simple email using JScript you would use the following:

var msg = new ActiveXObject("CDO.Message");
msg.To = “somebody@somedomain.com”;
msg.From = “someoneelse@someotherdomain.com”;
msg.Subject = "An example email using CDO for Windows 2000";
msg.TextBody = “This should appear in the body of the email”;
msg.Send();
msg = null;
