SQL Server 2008 script for lock wait time counts

SQL Server Scripts by Burleson Consulting

****************************************************
-- lock_analysis8.sql
****************************************************
SQL Server offers a number of other lock counters via the master.dbo.sysperfinfo
table that can be used to check lock activity. The following queries for SQL Server 7
and for SQL Server 2000 and above can get this information in short order:

select
   counter_name,
   sum(cntr_value)
from
   master.dbo.sysperfinfo
See code depot for full script
where
   counter_name in ('Lock Wait Time (ms)',
      'Average Wait Time (ms)',
      'Lock Waits/sec')
and

   instance_name = '_Total'
and

   object_name = 'SQLServer:Locks'
group by
   counter_name
